Governance of Initiative

The Human Rights in Education Trust was established as a legal entity by the initial organisational partners to facilitate work undertaken as part of the Human Rights in Education Initiative.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you play a role in the Initiative

• formally setting its strategic direction and protecting its identity and integrity,
• appointing and supporting the director,
• ensuring effective stewardship of Initiative resources provided for and by the Trust,
• overseeing the national facilitation of the Initiative in accordance with the purpose and principles articulated in the Trust Deed.
  

The Board works in partnership with the Director and the Facilitation Team and works mainly via email and phone, with face-to-face meetings each quarter.
