Compasito 4.04 Advertising in Human Rights
A creative activity requiring students to write and film a T.V advertisement for children's rights. Through choosing one right to advertise and thinking about their target audience - students practice critical thinking with regards to human rights and the advertising industry. Communication, participation and production skills are also employed, such as acting, film production and editing, story telling, singing and public speaking. Compasito 4.10 Compasito Reporter
In this activity children act as reporters and research human rights issues in their community. By identifying and researching human rights issues around them children develop an awareness of human rights in their everyday life and develop collaborative skills for active participation to defend rights and violations. Compasito 4.19 Once upon a time
This activity allows children to reflect on stereotypes about gender. A fairytale/story is told, in which the characters' sexes are reversed. Children will notice this as unusual and this should lead to a discussion about stereotypical gender roles and how children agree or disagree with them. Suitable for Years 3-9. Compasito 4.20 Picture games
In this activity children explore pictures from a human rights perspective looking at stereotypes, different perspectives and how pictures inform or misinform. This raises awareness of human rights issues in everyday life and helps develop 'visual literacy', listening and communication skills. (Part of the Compasito Human Rights Education Handbook).

Compasito 4.35 What I like and what I do
This activity focuses on gender stereotypes. Students discuss what they like and what they don't like in relation to what people think is 'appropriate' or 'inappropriate' for their gender. They are then able to discuss these stereotypes and relate them to human rights. (Part of the Compasito Human Rights Education Handbook).

This activity deals with the freedom of expression and its limits. Children look at hurtful language, the effect it has on people and why some people choose to use it. Suitable for Years 6-9. (Part of the Compasito Human Rights Education Handbook).
