Third annual research report on Hampshire's 'RRR' approach shows positive results for rights-based education
Inaugural Meeting for HRiE Early Childhood advisory group
This activity which is part of the Compasito Human Rights Education handbook invites the students to draw a map of their community. They are then asked to analyse it from a human rights perspective, linking venues with rights like freedom of religion, right to education. By doing this students are able to link their environment to human rights and to evaluate the human rights climate in their community.

In this activity children discuss and learn about the importance of natural resources essential for life, particularly water. Children then discuss ways to protect water and the environment. (Part of the Compasito Human Rights Education Handbook).

In this creative activity students draw two different pictures of two different environments. One displays an environment in which they would like to live that other one they would not like to live in. By comparing both pictures and linking them to their lives students are able to discuss ways to protect the environment. Suitable for Year 4-9. This creative activity uses drawing and model building to explore the forces that drive development. Students gain understanding of how local development does or does not meet local people’s needs, how decisions about local development are made and that the outcomes of development are not inevitable.
